Part-time jobs that fit around childcare (Memphis)

A grocery chain and a hotel near Memphis are hiring part-time staff. This is my first time dealing with any of this. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. How many hours do they guarantee?

I got the job by going in around mid-morning and asking for the manager. Worth a try.

I worked evenings at a hotel. The hours were steady and the team was friendly, but weekends were busy.
