Part-time jobs that fit around childcare - first time posting

A grocery chain and a hotel near Phoenix are hiring part-time staff. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. Has anyone worked these shifts?

Ask whether the schedule is posted in advance and how they handle swaps. It matters a lot with kids.
