Part-time jobs that fit around childcare

A grocery chain and a hotel near Baltimore are hiring part-time staff. I have been trying to stay organised about it. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Is the schedule really fixed?

I got the job by going in around mid-morning and asking for the manager. Worth a try.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
