Part-time jobs that fit around childcare (Dallas)

I am looking for part-time work that fits around school hours and found a few evening shifts near Dallas. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Is the schedule really fixed?

Check how they treat part-time staff for benefits. Some add them after a set number of hours.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
