Part-time jobs that fit around childcare - any advice?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Buffalo are hiring part-time staff. It has been weighing on me all week. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly.

Ask whether the schedule is posted in advance and how they handle swaps. It matters a lot with kids.
