Part-time jobs that fit around childcare - any advice?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Austin are hiring part-time staff. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Some roles have a small tuition benefit. Is the schedule really fixed?

I got the job by going in around mid-morning and asking for the manager. Worth a try.

Check how they treat part-time staff for benefits. Some add them after a set number of hours.
