Part-time jobs that fit around childcare - any advice?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Milwaukee are hiring part-time staff. I worked as a logistics coordinator before this. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Has anyone worked these shifts?

Ask whether the schedule is posted in advance and how they handle swaps. It matters a lot with kids.

I got the job by going in around mid-morning and asking for the manager. Worth a try.
