Part-time jobs that fit around childcare after 3 years as a hotel front-desk agent

A grocery chain and a hotel near Salt Lake City are hiring part-time staff. This is my first time dealing with any of this. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Has anyone worked these shifts?

Ask whether the schedule is posted in advance and how they handle swaps. It matters a lot with kids.
