Part-time jobs that fit around childcare after 16 years as a procurement assistant

A grocery chain and a hotel near Detroit are hiring part-time staff. I worked as a procurement assistant before this. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Is the schedule really fixed?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
