Part-time jobs that fit around childcare after 16 years as a bookkeeper

I am looking for part-time work that fits around school hours and found a few evening shifts near Cincinnati. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Is the schedule really fixed?

I got the job by going in around mid-morning and asking for the manager. Worth a try.
