Part-time jobs that fit around childcare - 9 months and counting

I am looking for part-time work that fits around school hours and found a few evening shifts near Wichita. I am in Wichita, in case local advice matters. Some roles have a small tuition benefit. How many hours do they guarantee?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

I worked evenings at a hotel. The hours were steady and the team was friendly, but weekends were busy.
