Part-time jobs that fit around childcare - 8 months and counting

I am looking for part-time work that fits around school hours and found a few evening shifts near Seattle. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Is the schedule really fixed?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
