Part-time jobs that fit around childcare

A grocery chain and a hotel near Austin are hiring part-time staff. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. Has anyone worked these shifts?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I got the job by going in around mid-morning and asking for the manager. Worth a try.
