Part-time jobs that fit around childcare - 17 weeks in

A grocery chain and a hotel near Chicago are hiring part-time staff. It has been a long 17 weeks. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. Has anyone worked these shifts?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
