Jobs at small Salt Lake City companies nobody posts about - 9 months and counting

I asked around at a community meeting and got three leads. There are 10 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. They like a brief email with a résumé. Should I visit in person?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
