Jobs at small Sacramento companies nobody posts about - any advice?

I asked around at a community meeting and got three leads. I do not usually post, so bear with me. They like a brief email with a résumé. Does anyone have similar leads?

Keep a list of who you contacted and when. It makes follow-ups easy.
