Jobs at small Raleigh companies nobody posts about - first time posting

Two small Raleigh employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. Should I visit in person?

Keep a list of who you contacted and when. It makes follow-ups easy.
