Jobs at small Pittsburgh companies nobody posts about (Pittsburgh)

Two small Pittsburgh employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. Should I visit in person?
