Jobs at small Minneapolis companies nobody posts about after 14 years as an office manager

A friend who works at a local manufacturer says there are openings not advertised online. I am in Minneapolis, in case local advice matters. They like a brief email with a résumé. Does anyone have similar leads?

Small employers often hire on recommendation. Ask neighbours, former co-workers and your library.
