Jobs at small Honolulu companies nobody posts about - any advice?

Two small Honolulu employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. It has been a long 14 weeks. They like a brief email with a résumé.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
