Jobs at small Hartford companies nobody posts about after 12 years as a hotel front-desk agent

Two small Hartford employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. Should I visit in person?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
