Jobs at small Fresno companies nobody posts about - any advice?

Two small Fresno employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. There are 12 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. They like a brief email with a résumé. What do you write in a cold email?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Small employers often hire on recommendation. Ask neighbours, former co-workers and your library.
