Jobs at small Austin companies nobody posts about - any advice?

Two small Austin employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. I worked as an IT help-desk technician before this. One is a print shop, one is an accounting firm and one is a clinic.

Small employers often hire on recommendation. Ask neighbours, former co-workers and your library.
