Hiring several warehouse roles around Birmingham after 14 years as an administrative assistant

A distribution centre near Birmingham is holding hiring sessions this week for packers, pickers and forklift operators. I worked as an administrative assistant before this. They said to bring ID and a work history, and some people were hired on the spot. What are the shifts like?

I applied for a similar job last year and the drug screen and background check took about a week. Bring two forms of ID.

Ask whether the job is direct hire or through an agency. The pay and benefits were very different for me.
