Hiring now: drivers with a commercial licence near Portland - what worked for you?

I saw postings for delivery drivers and dispatchers near Portland. I am in Portland, in case local advice matters. A clean driving record is required. Are the local runs really home every night?

Ask how many stops and hours a typical day has. The pay per hour dropped when my route was longer than advertised.
