Flexible shifts hiring in Sacramento - any advice?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Sacramento are hiring part-time staff. I have been trying to stay organised about it. Some roles have a small tuition benefit. Has anyone worked these shifts?

I worked evenings at a hotel. The hours were steady and the team was friendly, but weekends were busy.
