Flexible shifts hiring in Milwaukee - what worked for you?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Milwaukee are hiring part-time staff. Any experience at all would help. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. Has anyone worked these shifts?

I got the job by going in around mid-morning and asking for the manager. Worth a try.
