Flexible shifts hiring in Milwaukee - any advice?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Milwaukee are hiring part-time staff. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. Has anyone worked these shifts?

Check how they treat part-time staff for benefits. Some add them after a set number of hours.
