Flexible shifts hiring in Detroit (update)

A grocery chain and a hotel near Detroit are hiring part-time staff. I am in Detroit, in case local advice matters. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Has anyone worked these shifts?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
