Flexible shifts hiring in Dallas - what worked for you?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Dallas are hiring part-time staff. There are 13 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. How many hours do they guarantee?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
