Flexible shifts hiring in Columbus - what worked for you?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Columbus are hiring part-time staff. There are 8 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. Is the schedule really fixed?

Ask whether the schedule is posted in advance and how they handle swaps. It matters a lot with kids.

Check how they treat part-time staff for benefits. Some add them after a set number of hours.
