Flexible shifts hiring in Chicago

A grocery chain and a hotel near Chicago are hiring part-time staff. It has been a long 24 weeks. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. Has anyone worked these shifts?

Ask whether the schedule is posted in advance and how they handle swaps. It matters a lot with kids.
