Flexible shifts hiring in Charlotte - any advice?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Charlotte are hiring part-time staff. It has been a long 23 weeks. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Has anyone worked these shifts?

Ask whether the schedule is posted in advance and how they handle swaps. It matters a lot with kids.
