Flexible shifts hiring in Birmingham - what worked for you?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Birmingham are hiring part-time staff. There are 10 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Some roles have a small tuition benefit. Is the schedule really fixed?

Ask whether the schedule is posted in advance and how they handle swaps. It matters a lot with kids.
