Fair-chance hiring leads - what worked for you?

I found a second-chance hiring list from a workforce board. Any experience at all would help. Pay starts at an hourly rate with benefits after 12 months. Any other leads?

Be honest, brief and forward-looking when you talk about it. They care more about what you did since.
