Fair-chance hiring leads, graphic designer here

A few employers in San Diego say they hire people with a record, including a manufacturer and a warehouse. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Pay starts at an hourly rate with benefits after 6 months. Did they ask about it in the interview?
