I found a second-chance hiring list from a workforce board. I worked as a call-centre agent before this. The HR contact was kind and direct. Did they ask about it in the interview?

Ask the workforce centre about bonding programmes. They sometimes help employers feel comfortable.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
