Fair-chance hiring leads - any advice?

I got a lead on a company that does not ask about convictions on the first application. I do not usually post, so bear with me. They still run a background check later but consider it case by case.

Be honest, brief and forward-looking when you talk about it. They care more about what you did since.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
