Fair-chance hiring leads after 14 years as an accounts payable clerk

A few employers in Raleigh say they hire people with a record, including a manufacturer and a warehouse. There are 14 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. They still run a background check later but consider it case by case. Did they ask about it in the interview?
