Fair-chance hiring leads after 11 years as a graphic designer

A few employers in St. Louis say they hire people with a record, including a manufacturer and a warehouse. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. They still run a background check later but consider it case by case. Did they ask about it in the interview?
