Fair-chance hiring leads

I got a lead on a company that does not ask about convictions on the first application. I have been trying to stay organised about it. They still run a background check later but consider it case by case. Has anyone worked at these places?

Be honest, brief and forward-looking when you talk about it. They care more about what you did since.
