Evening and part-time openings around Seattle - any advice?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Seattle are hiring part-time staff. It has been weighing on me all week. They can give a schedule two weeks ahead. Is the schedule really fixed?

I worked evenings at a hotel. The hours were steady and the team was friendly, but weekends were busy.
