Evening and part-time openings around Omaha - any advice?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Omaha are hiring part-time staff. I worked as a retail manager before this. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. Is the schedule really fixed?

I got the job by going in around mid-morning and asking for the manager. Worth a try.
