Evening and part-time openings around Oklahoma City - any advice?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Oklahoma City are hiring part-time staff. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. Is the schedule really fixed?

Ask whether the schedule is posted in advance and how they handle swaps. It matters a lot with kids.
