Employers that hire people with a record, St. Louis - what worked for you?

A few employers in St. Louis say they hire people with a record, including a manufacturer and a warehouse. There are 16 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. They still run a background check later but consider it case by case. Any other leads?
