Employers that hire people with a record, Richmond - any advice?

I found a second-chance hiring list from a workforce board. I am in Richmond, in case local advice matters. They still run a background check later but consider it case by case. Has anyone worked at these places?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
