Employers that hire people with a record, Kansas City - what worked for you?

A few employers in Kansas City say they hire people with a record, including a manufacturer and a warehouse. Any experience at all would help. Pay starts at an hourly rate with benefits after 15 months. Any other leads?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
