Employers that hire people with a record, Honolulu - what worked for you?

A few employers in Honolulu say they hire people with a record, including a manufacturer and a warehouse. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. The HR contact was kind and direct. Did they ask about it in the interview?

Check your record before you apply so nothing surprises you. A free legal clinic helped me look.
