Employers that hire people with a record, Detroit - what worked for you?

I found a second-chance hiring list from a workforce board. I have been trying to stay organised about it. The HR contact was kind and direct. Did they ask about it in the interview?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
