Employers that hire people with a record, Cleveland - what worked for you?

A few employers in Cleveland say they hire people with a record, including a manufacturer and a warehouse. Any experience at all would help. The HR contact was kind and direct. Has anyone worked at these places?

Be honest, brief and forward-looking when you talk about it. They care more about what you did since.
